DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - For
many of us, this morning's news was numbing: Iconic singer-performerDavid Bowie is dead, at 69, following a long struggle with cancer few knew about.
We did know he released another well-received album. "Blackstar," his 28th compilation, on Friday. "Urgent, contemporary and elliptical," The Guardian wrote in its review, while Jon Pareles of The New York Times called it "emotive and cryptic, structured and spontaneous and, above all, willful, refusing to cater to the expectations of radio stations or fans."
But Bowie was more than a musician. He was a master craftsman who broke ground and pushed boundaries.
