DENVER – The Colorado State Capitol building was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a
bomb threat, according to Colorado State Patrol. No threat was ultimately found.
The threat was phoned in a little after 4 p.m. A CSP spokesman said the threat is believed to have come through Denver 911.
The Denver Police Department and CSP started to sweep the building shortly after the threat. At 7 p.m., CSP tweeted nothing was found.
The City and County of Denver estimates more than one million people were at nearby Civic Park and the downtown area Tuesday afternoon for the Denver Broncos Super Bowl parade, though many of them had dispersed by the time the Capitol was evacuated.
