DENVER – The Colorado State Capitol building was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a
bomb threat, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The threat was phoned in a little after 4 p.m. A CSP spokesman said the threat is believed to have come through Denver 911.
The Denver Police Department and CSP were working to sweep the building as of 4:45 p.m.
The City and County of Denver estimates more than one million people were at nearby Civic Park and the downtown area Tuesday afternoon for the Denver Broncos Super Bowl parade, though many of them had dispersed by the time the Capitol was evacuated.
No additional information was immediately available.
