BOULDER - More than a foot of snow fell on many parts of Colorado from Monday
through Tuesday, making some streets seemingly impassable come Wednesday morning.
Residential snow plow drivers will make a single pass down some residential streets, only taking the top few inches of snow off roadways. They do this to help make roads easier to drive on and to keep ruts and ice from forming.

However, since temperatures dropped into the single digits overnight, side streets Wednesday morning might not have much snow on them. Instead, some of the streets were piles of snow coupled with icy conditions.
Some cities, like Aurora, don’t deploy residential plows, except under extreme winter conditions.
