SANTA CLARA – A safety on the Denver Broncos practice squad was questioned and released during a prostitution sting in San Jose Tuesday, NBC News reports.
Ryan Murphy, 23, was present at a Motel 6 involved in the sting. He was released after authorities determined he was not involved in any criminal activity, according to NBC News.
Murphy, a rookie safety out of Oregon State, was a seventh-round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks. He was waived by Seattle on Sept. 5, and later joined the Broncos practice squad.
During the sting, NBC News reports 10 men were cited and released. Twenty women acting as prostitutes were offered county resources.
The Broncos have not yet commented on the incident.
