The Broncos started off the open period of

Thursday's practice with Tupac and Dr. Dre's "California Love" blasting from the speakers.

On the field, there was a similar level of peace and excitement. Denver is fairly healthy for a team at the end of a season-long battle.

Safety Darian Stewart (knee) was the only player not at Broncos practice. Safety T.J. Ward (ankle) did not do much during the open period, but he was back on the field — a good sign for Broncos fans.

WATCH: How badly do the Broncos need T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart?

Both of Denver's starting safeties left the AFC championship game with injuries in the second half and did not return.

Stewart has a mild right MCL sprain, but said after the game Sunday that there's "no doubt" he will play in Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.

Ward aggravated his left ankle sprain in the fourth quarter, but guaranteed he will play as well.

Quarterback Peyton Manning was active and firing fastballs to his receivers. The veteran quarterback has played better this season after extended rest such as the bye week the Super Bowl presents.
