JEFFERSON COUNTY – A man convicted of holding a woman he met at a bar captive and repeatedly sexually
assaulting her over the course of 30 hours has been sentenced to life in prison, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Lawrence Allen White, 49, was convicted in December to kidnapping, sexual assault and second-degree assault. He had three previous felony convictions, including one in California for accessory to murder.
The DA’s Office says White met the victim at the Ralston Lounge in September 2014. She went back to his house, where she lost consciousness. When she woke up, investigators say she was lying naked on his bed and had been tied up. White repeatedly sexually assaulted her, police say.
After White took the victim home, investigators say she immediately went to the hospital. She had multiple abrasions and bruises around her neck from being choked with the rope, as well as other injuries.
“This is one of the most calculated and vicious attacks that I have ever seen,” said District Attorney Pete Weir in a news release. “…He deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. “
