Sealed bids will be received by the El Paso Water Utilities until 2:00P.M., local time, March 21, 2016 Bid Number 28-16 for KBH Service Pipelines to EWM Facility
in accordance with plans and specifications. Bids will then be opened and read aloud in the third floor conference room, El Paso Water Utilities Building, 1154 Hawkins Boulevard, El Paso, Texas 79925. The work under this contract shall be for furnishing all labor, materials, transportation and services for the construction and installation of the following work: The work under this contract shall be for furnishing all labor, materials, transportation and services for the construction and installation of the following work: Furnish and install 6", 8" 10" and 12" diameter 316L stainless steel, furnish and install approximately 1,300 LF of 10" diameter HDPE DR 11 piping, and approximately 1,700 LF of 12" diameter PVC C900 CL 200 piping. All of this piping will require isolation butterfly, gate and check valves, air/vacuum valves, manholes appurtenances, 30" X 12" tapping sleeve and valve assembly fittings, magnetic flow meters, concrete vaults, HMAC, concrete header curb replacement and CMU Building. The stainless steel pipe will be installed inside the KBH facilities, above ground and inside an existing concrete trench gallery. The remainder of the pipe will be installed underground and will be by open cut excavation to include bedding and compacted backfill. The project will include trench safety per OSHA requirements, disinfection, storm water pollution prevention measures, construction water and power, dust control, project management, mobilization, demobilization, house-keeping and project videotaping for a complete and operable project as intended by the drawings and specifications. PRE-BID MEETING will be held at 10:00 A.M., local time, March 14, 2016, in the third floor conference room, El Paso Water Utilities Building, 1154 Hawkins Boulevard, El Paso, Texas. The purpose of the PRE-BID MEETING is to review the plans and specifications and respond to questions from bidders. Qualified Local, Minority and Women Enterprises are encouraged to participate in this project and will be contacted by the bidder by certified mail wherever possible. Certified receipts shall be provided as part of the bid unless the goal has been reached as evidenced by draft subcontracts included with the bid or other evidence the goal has been attained. The Utility's minimum goals for this project are: 15% for Small Locally-Owned Businesses, 5% for Minority-Owned Businesses, and 2% for Women-Owned Businesses. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent of the bid amount. Contract Documents, including plans, specifications and proposal forms may be examined without charge in the office of the Purchasing Department, 1154 Hawkins Boulevard, El Paso, Texas 79925 (FED-X address) or may be obtained from the same address upon receipt of a non-refundable payment of $40 for each hard copy of Contract Documents and/or a non-refundable payment of $7.50 for a CD version of the Documents.
