17 teams of information security experts have headed across the channel from Folkstone in a mix of old bangers, vintage cars, decorated family vehicles and supercars to take part in this

year’s White Hat Rally – Amsterdammed: The Rise of the Dark Net. The rally, to raise much needed funds for Barnardo’s, kicked off in the early hours of Friday morning in France and heads through Belgium and up to the Netherlands, taking in Bruges, Ghent, Amsterdam and other cities.

The teams of security professionals, more used to pitching their skills against hackers and cyber terrorists, will spend three days facing unknown mental and physical challenges.

White Hat Rally

Last year’s White Hat Rally event raised £48,000 for Barnardo’s, the largest provider of child sexual exploitation support services in the UK. In 2013 alone, Barnardo’s worked with almost 1,200 victims through 21 specialist services and fund raising activities such as the White Hat Rally are vital in helping them to support even more children in the future.
