A new infographic aims to raise awareness among young people about the Big Society
and government cuts.
The infographic displays statistics about society's awareness of economic issues and volunteering opportunities. It is an effort to provide information on the government's Big Society initiative, of which, according to the infographic, 75 per cent of young people are unaware.
Powered by the volunteering organisation, vinspired, the Big Society's Big Mouth campaign is a site for young people between 16-25 year olds which facilitates discussion on community issues. Users are encouraged to share ideas and collaborate on social action projects.
In a statement, Terry Ryall, chief executive of v, said: "The project will culminate with young people taking their proposals for change to government decision-makers.
Through the development of this infographic, we aim to raise awareness of some of the areas which young people are discussing on the platform - cuts, employment and Big Society being three big themes."
