Building on Success

Nissan didn't make many changes to its Pathfinder for the 2016 model year, which is to be expected: the Pathfinder has been a hit since it debuted as

an all-new model in 2013. When the new 3-row SUV came out, it found a wider audience as a more approachable daily-driving modern SUV than it ever had as a more rugged off-roader. Since the reinvented Pathfinder came out, it has been on KBB's Best Family Cars lists for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder continues its ascent toward the upper echelon of the modern midsize SUV category.

Driving It

From our full review of the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder: "If refinement and car-like handling are more important than the ability to crawl down craters, the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder deserves a spot at the top of your shopping list. Thanks to its unit body, the 7-passenger Pathfinder can accommodate a modern suspension that returns a stable, smooth ride and compliant road manners."

Build and Price

The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder starts at over $30,000 and tops out at about $46,000. But those are sticker prices. Build and price your own Pathfinder to unlock its Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price, 5-Year Cost to Own and more.

A Heads-Up from Buyers

KBB consumer reviews mention issues with the current-generation Pathfinder's transmission. KBB visitor and Pathfinder owner denny also experienced a transmission issue, but it was quickly resolved: "The transmission was defective as new. Dealer replaced it promptly and at no cost. Nice car on the open road, very nice ride, good with potholes. Side mirrors interfered with view and the button controls on the door were hard to find."
