The Toyota of Full-size Trucks

If you're one of the Big Three (Ford, General Motors and Chrysler), you don't have much trouble moving your full-size truck offering thanks to the cult-like following

you've built up over the last five decades. What if you're not one of the aforementioned Detroit-based automakers though? Toyota is in the latter group but many people may not know that the Tundra is, in fact, built right here in the United States. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas was established back in 2003 and today manufactures both the full-size Tundra and midsize Tacoma trucks.

Driving It

Straight from our full review of the 2016 Toyota Tundra: "For a truck, we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the Tundra's cabin was, even at highway speeds. Despite not offering a locking rear differential, our TRD Pro Off-Road 4x4 had no problem scaling muddy embankments, inching down steep grades and plowing through shallow streams."

KBB.com visitor and Tundra owner KRZ offers his opinion of the Tundra's cabin: "I am a firm believer in the outstanding quality and reliability of this truck, but would just want to point out to any prospective buyers that for some reason Toyota has eliminated many of the interior storage options that existed in the previous generation. I find it frustrating that the glove box is about the same size as what could be found in a Corolla. Also, in the Crewmax they decided to place a massive piece of dense foam under the rear seats leaving virtually no underseat storage." Read more consumer reviews of the Toyota Tundra.
