SWAT officers have surrounded a Wheat Ridge home on Wednesday evening as they try to arrest a wanted man they believe is barricaded inside.

Police say they believe the

man is holed up in a basement near the intersection of West 38th Avenue and Pierce Street.

Another wanted man was arrested before the SWAT situation began, said Maureen Harper, a police spokeswoman.

Harper said the men are wanted on felony warrants that include alleged violations of probation and parole.

At 8:04 p.m. police on Twitter said they obtained a search warrant and sent a "surveillance" robot into the home.

Streets in the area are closed.
