AURORA - A company in Aurora is taking a proactive approach in limiting
the severity of head related injuries to athletes.
The skull caps created by Sport Shieldz provide an extra layer of impact-dissipating padding that can reduce the amount of force an athlete's head receives when hit.
Sport Shieldz says their products have been lab-tested. According to the tests, there is a 35 percent decrease in G-Force when worn under a football helmet, an 18 percent decrease in G-Force under a bike helmet and a 24 percent decrease when worn by itself.
