DENVER – Denver Nuggets Point Guard Ty Lawson will appear in court on Friday after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Lawson was previously arrested on suspicion of DUI in Denver back in January. According to Denver DUI Attorney Jay Tiftickjian, Lawson's arrest in Los Angeles violates his bond agreement in his Denver DUI case.
Tiftickjian says violating bail bond conditions is a separately charged offence and includes jail time. Lawson's bond could be revoked, meaning he would return to custody. Alternatively, Tiftickjian says his sobriety monitoring may be increased and restrictions could be placed on his travel.
"Ultimately, it is not good for Mr. Lawson's case," Tiftickjian said.
